We are pleased to announce that our THORALM Dry Gin was awarded an impressive score of 95 points at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) Awards 2024. This outstanding achievement in the “Classic / Traditional Gin” category confirms the quality and excellence of our gin and marks an important milestone in the history of THORALM.

What is behind the IWSC award?

The IWSC is more than just a competition - it is a global community of wine and spirits professionals dedicated to promoting the best products in the world. Since 1969, the IWSC has set the standard in the industry and is known for its rigorous judging processes and the high level of expertise of its judges. Every year, thousands of entries from around the world are carefully reviewed and evaluated.

What does a IWSC award so special? The jury uses the so-called "double-blind" method: the samples are served in numbered glasses so that the experts never see the bottle. This ensures an objective assessment. In addition, each spirit is evaluated by an entire panel, which allows room for detailed discussion and a balanced assessment.

The THORALM Dry Gin convinced the jury with its generous fruit and herbal aromas, which lead to a harmonious and refined taste experience. The tasting notes praise the depth and richness of the gin as well as its long, lingering finish. A powerful and masterfully executed spirit that impresses with its quality.

Some of the outstanding features of the IWSC judging process are:

1. Each submission is carefully categorized.
2. Samples are served anonymously in numbered glasses.
3. The jury is made up of experts from over 30 countries.
4. Maximum number of 65 samples per day to avoid taste bud fatigue.
5. All gold-awarded spirits are tasted again by an independent member of the Spirits Judging Committee.
6. In order to reach the right target group, detailed information on the distribution channels of all spirits submitted is required.

The Gin category is the largest and most diverse at the IWSC, with a variety of entries from around the world. Our THORALM Dry Gin was awarded in the Classic / Traditional Gin category, which highlights gins that feature juniper at the forefront, complemented by traditional botanicals such as coriander seed, angelica and citrus peel.
